(Beschluss) der Apteraier.Beschluss von Rat und Volk,Sosos S.d. Abdias stellte den Antrag: Da KallipposS.d. Aristokritos aus Kos, als Arztvon der Stadt entsandt, sichbeider Städte würdig verhieltund in Lebenswandel und (ärztlicher)Kunst es an keiner Fürsorge fehlen ließ undviele Bürger aus schwerer Krankheiterrettete; - damit nun auch das Volkin sichtbarer Weise die tüchtigen Männer ehre,wollen beschließen Rat und Volk:dass man den Arzt Kallippos S.d. Aristokritosaus Kos belobige und ihn bekränzemit goldenem Kranz wgen seiner Leistungund seines Wohlwollens ihm gegenüber; dieSchatzmeister sollen ihm zu demKranz und zum Reisegeld dreihundertStatere geben. Damit auch die Koer Kenntniserlangen von dieser Absicht, sollen dieKosmen den Beschluss siegeln mitdem Staatssiegel, ihnenzusenden und sie als Freundebitten, Sorge zu tragenfür die Verkündigungdes Kranzes an den Dionysienbeim ersten Wettkampf und bei denGroßen Asklepieen, und der Steleeinen Platz zuzuweisen im Heiligtum desAsklepios an dem hervorragendstenPlatz, auf die der Beschluss des Volkesgeschrieben wird; dass er auch proxenossein soll und Wohltäter der Stadt derAptaraier - - -

Of the Apteraians.It was decred by the council and people,Sosos son of Abdias proposed: inasmuch as Kal-lippos son of Aristokritos, Koan, physiciansent by the city, has made avisit worthy of both citiesin terms of his life and his craft,omitting nothing of zeal, andhas saved many of the citizens from grave ill-nesses; so that therefore the people may be manifesthonoring good men,it is decreed by the council and people:to praise Kallippos son of Aristokritos,Koan, physician, and crown himwith a gold crown for his excellenceand his good will toward it; thetreasurers are to give him for thecrown and travel money threehundred staters; and so that the Koansattend to the decision, the kosmoiare to seal the decree with the stateseal and send itto them and ask that they,being friends, see tomaking the proclamationof the crown at the Dionysiaat its next contest and at theGreat Asklepieia, and to grant for thestele a place in the temple ofAsklepios in the most conspicuous place,on which will be in scribed the decreeof the people; he is to be a proxenosand benefactor of the city of theAptaraians - - -.
